Edoxi’s 80-hour Medical Coding Course in Dubai equips you with skills needed to translate clinical documentation, doctors’ notes, lab reports and diagnostic findings into standardised codes for billing, insurance claims and patient records. The course covers three core coding systems: ICD-10-CM for diagnoses, CPT for procedures and services, and HCPCS Level II for supplies and equipment. It also includes a dedicated module on AI in medical coding. You’ll practise real-world coding scenarios and take mock tests to prepare for the AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam.
Training is led by Dr Shivani Khasnis, a CPC- and CPMA-certified trainer. You can attend classes at Edoxi’s Bur Dubai centre, join live online sessions or opt for corporate training. With a maximum of 12 learners per trainer, you benefit from focused instruction and practical guidance. On completion, you receive an Edoxi Course Completion Certificate attested by the KHDA. The course prepares you for the CPC exam but does not award the CPC credential. You must book and pay for the AAPC exam separately and pass it to earn the certification.
Medical coding is essential to Dubai’s insurance-driven healthcare system, supporting accurate claims processing, reimbursement and patient records. Since health insurance became mandatory in Dubai in 2014, accurate coding has played a vital role in healthcare administration. The DHA’s eClaimLink platform processes healthcare claims, making coding skills valuable across hospitals, clinics and insurance companies. Training in medical coding and recognised credentials, such as the AAPC CPC, can help professionals prepare for opportunities in Dubai’s healthcare sector.
What is Medical Coding?
Medical coding is the process of converting medical diagnoses, procedures, services and equipment into standardised alphanumeric codes. Coders review clinical documentation and assign codes using systems such as ICD-10-CM for diagnoses, CPT for procedures, and HCPCS Level II for supplies and services. These codes support medical billing, insurance claims and accurate patient records, making coding essential for reimbursement and regulatory compliance.
